Emma, the Supermodel

So, here are my first two tutu outfits that I made today. :) They are on my etsy shop. I still haven't sold anything there, but it sure is fun to pretend! I haven't lost interest in the bows I've been making lately, and I still love doing that. I'm loving these new tutus, I have a bunch of tulle on order in lots of colors. Isn't Emma a great model! :) She was a good sport!

So how much tule did you need to make the skirt? I'm going to make Mary a witches costume and do the skirt like a tutu. Thanks to you I got that idea you are so creative!

She is just ethereal!! How totally adorable! I am so impressed with your sewing ablities! When we do our sisters/mom weekend one of these years, you'll have to give me pointers so I can learn this art! So amazing!!
Love ya, Jen :)

For the waist tutu you need about 75 yards of 6 inch wide tulle. You can buy it at craft stores for about 2.99 for a spool of 25 yards. It is so easy! Very little sewing involved. Just get some no-roll elastic, to the size of the waist you want. Sew that securely. Then tie the strips of tulle on. The length of the tulle should just be double how long you want the skirt, plus 1" to account for the ties. So easy, and so cute! I think I'm going to try one for Emma, also. For a great online source for cheap tulle go to www.nashvillewraps.com
