At the Park with Friends

We were lucky enough to spend many summer afternoons at the Train park with friends. Everyday someone different was there, but it was fun to relax, visit, and enjoy good weather with great friends. We're grateful for the beautiful community we live in.

Lost Summer: Derby Days

The weekend after the 4th of July, we went to Redmond's Derby Days for the first time. We watched the bike races, we ate yummy food, and Emma got to ride some kiddie rides. We waited for hours for the fireworks to start, only to have them be cancelled, so we returned the following Friday night and saw some amazing fire works. It was a fun day spent with family!

Lost Summer: Tools & Best buds

Tools have been the most popular toy of Summer. We finally broke down and bought Henry some play tools, so we didn't have to worry about him playing and running around with Shane's real tools. Shane has spent hours with the kids taking apart toys and putting them back together again. Here Emma and Henry were trying to "fix" her bike with some tools, and worked on it for a couple hours one day.

And Henry is fascinated by Daddy's tools. Anytime the tool box is open, he's right there looking and wanting to touch everything he possibly can. :)

Lost Summer: All About Emma

This summer Emma has had so much fun with family & friends. Here she is at her friend Maggie's house swimming in their pool. These goggles were a gift from Grandpa Folkman, and she used them in the tub and the beach all summer long. I love her squished little face...

At Christmas last year, Grandpa Folkman gave Emma her own little guitar since she loves playing his so much. She's gotten lessons from both Grandpa and Uncle Zach all summer long and she loves it!

Lost Summer: All about Henry

Here are a few cute pictures of Henry B from this summer. We have been busy and he has been quite the trooper. I can't believe he is going to be a big brother soon. Poor little guy's world is going to come crashing down around him.

Here he is on the way home from church one day. I love dressing him up in little shirts and ties, he and Shane look so cute together. Of course, its helpful that Emma makes him laugh all the time...

Henry took a crash off my parents deck one Sunday this summer. He cried for about a minute and then life moved on with a bowl of ice cream. He had a cute scratch on his nose for a long time, and still has a pink scar from the fall. Its adds character to his little face.

One night before bed, he wanted to laugh and play, but not remove the milk from his mouth. It was quite funny how he would try and talk with the milk still going down.

Here he is at one of the first beach days of the summer...

And here he is at one of the last beach days of the summer...

Lost Summer: Bainbridge Island Kids Museum

Earlier this summer, we bought a groupon for a kids museum over on Bainbridge Island. We decided that we were running out of time to go on a little day trip, so a few Fridays ago, we spent the day together. We took the ferry over to the Island and then spent a few hours exploring the museum. It was super tiny, but was HEAVEN for Emma and Henry. Some of the favorites were a real interactive ATM for kids to try, shopping in the supermarket and finally the little Smartcar. We'd love to go see it again sometime, it was the perfect little afternoon getaway.

Lost Summer: Sleepy Times

Henry has been fighting sleep lately, both at night and at naptime. Last Friday on Shane's day off, this is what I found during afternoon naptime. My sweet tired boys!

Emma refuses to take naps anymore, so I often find her in this position in the car. Poor girl. The life of a five year old is exhausting.
