Shane & another car show

Shane got up this morning and went to another car show with a buddy from church. He is addicted to these things. They had fun, and he came home with another huge selection of stickers to put on his tool-box. :)

Also, speaking of Shane and things that go fast. Shane had a little motorcycle accident yesterday. He was over at a friends house looking at his truck, and they live on some big property, so they rode motorcycles afterwards for a little while. Shane crashed coming down a big hill. Nothing is majorly hurt, but he has some good bumps and scrapes and walks with a little limp. I'm so glad he wasn't hurt too bad, but I'm extremely upset with him that he wasn't wearing a helmet. Ugg...boys...

Fun at the aquarium

Yesterday morning, Emma and I went to the Aquarium with one of Emma's friends from church, Dane & his mom Amy. It was so fun! Dane's a little older than Emma, but they play together so well! They had fun! Going through the aquarium doesn't take too long either, so we had a fun morning, and neither of them got too grouchy or tired! Perfect!

Our first harvest...

Emma and I were able to pick 2 little zuccini the other night for a snack from my little container garden. So yummy! Emma's not a big vegetable eater, but I sliced them up, and she munched them down! I think it was the fun of helping me water them everyday, picking them, and then helping me slice them. A blessing from gardening!

Ribbon Caddy

Look how lucky I am! I asked Shane to make me a little ribbon caddy, and after spending the morning with his Dad in the Reckling shop, this is what he came home with! It is so amazing! It holds all my ribbons, with tons of room to spare. Thanks guys! I so appreciate your willingness to build stuff for me! :) (All the wood came from Al's Hardward shop...(aka's Shane's Dad's garage)...thanks for donating the supplies & putting so much time in!)

Memories

I got this from one of my roommates blogs from college. :) Let's see who has good memories of me. Nothing too embarrassing, ok? :)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see all the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume your playing the game and I will come to your blog and leave one about you.

Daddy Daughter Date

On Friday, while I was at Mamma Mia with the girls, Shane and Emma had a night out. He took her to a car show with some of his work buddies, Emma can now name quite a few hot-rods. They had fun. I'm a little worried though, since then, everytime we get in the car, Emma says "go really fast Mommy!". How fast did you and Emma go, Shane?

Loved it!

Last night, a bunch of ladies from my ward had a "girls night out" and we went to dinner and to see Mamma Mia. It was so fun! At multiple points in the show, the whole theater erupted into spontaneous applause. Very fun. And hilarious trying to watch Pierce Brosnan sing a love song...weird. But so fun! We sat in front of a row full of guys, that were all singing and dancing along with the show. It was fun. Go with your girlfriends. :)

Kayak Point trip with the Folkmans

Last weekend, we had a mini-family reunion with all the Folkmans at Kayak Point. It's just north of Seattle, right on the coast. They have a campground, yurts, and a cottage you can rent. My parents rented the cottage, and we all stayed together in the house. We played at the beach, went crabbing off the pier, read books, played games, and just relaxed. So much fun! Here are a few pictures...

Here's Jake deflating the huge beach ball we brought for Emma. It took us almost an hour to blow it up, and almost that long to deflate.

Ticket to ride! Such a fun game. Our friends Karen & Greg introduced it to us, and now it's a family favorite. So fun...try it!

Finally!

After six weeks of visiting the laundromat, my new washer/dryer is coming tomorrow!!!! I've never been so happy about a household appliance before. Since we moved in, we been washing everything in the mini-apartment size stackable washer/dryer, and I felt like I did 15 mini-loads a week. I'm so excited to be getting a full size machine you wouldn't believe it! I'll be able to get all our laundry done in one day. For the first time in my life, I'm excited to do laundry, woo-hoo! Thanks to my sis-in-law Becca for getting us a smokin' deal. We got to pay the wholesale price, we couldn't have asked for a better deal!

Carrots, along with basil, mint and chives...

Finally, a squash blossom! My squash and cucumber plants are huge! Can't wait to taste them all! :)

A fun 4th

We had a great time. It was our first 4th in our home, and little city, and it was very fun. Our ward has a flag raising program at the church at 8:00 am (Early, but worth it). I got talked into singing and it ended up being really fun. The mayor comes every year, which was a cute surprise. She spoke for a moment. Then our city has a little parade, and at the park behind city hall they have pony rides, blow-up toys for the kids to jump in, and lots of games. I love it, it's all free. Emma got to ride a pony, and didn't want Shane or I to help her. She walked right up to the horse, and held on. She was so cute.

Then we did the rounds with family. We spent a few hours at the Recklings. I went in to lay Emma down for a nap, and ended up sleeping for a while, too. (good day for a nap). Then we had a barbecue with my family at the Folkmans with all the brothers & siblings. It was fun.

We then went out to spend the evening at some friends in our ward. They invite the whole ward over and have a barbecue and to set off fireworks for many hours. I couldn't believe the chaos, but it was sure fun. Emma got to jump on the trampoline and play with some of her primary buddies.

Shane got to be a pyro for a night, and set off all the illegal fireworks for then night. He had a blast. Overall it was a fun night, one of my favorite holidays! :)
