Ah, my sweet boy.

Last night we had a ward ice cream social and game night. As you can see, Henry really enjoyed the chocolate cake we had.

Story time with Grandma & Grandpa

All the grandkids on the Folkman side got a pretty amazing present. My parents made some powerpoints of some of our favorite books from our childhood, for our kids to have. Grandma & Grandpa do the narration, so Emma can have a book read to her anytime of day! She loves it.

This one is "The Little Father", and Emma listens to it at least 3 times a day. When she starts it up, Henry always hears Grandpa's voice and rushes over to see. It's really cute.

(Currently, the other book "Where the Wild Things Are" isn't working, but we'll get it fixed soon.)

New Years Paintball Party

On New Year's Day, we spent a chunk of time playing at the Selfs, while Daddy was out playing paintball with all the boys. They have some really great hammock chairs hanging in their front room, and as you can see, Emma & Henry had quite a bit of fun playing in them.

New Years Burn Victim

On New Year's Eve, we had family over. After putting kids to bed, we started a fire in the fireplace. Once all the family arrived, kids however, made their way back down stairs. Amidst the hussle and bussle of food and good company, everyone was kind of watching Henry, but in reality...no one was. He managed to slip past us and burn his hand on the glass doors of the fireplace.

I felt so horrible. We spent an hour or so in the urgent care getting it wrapped and picking up a super duper prescription for burn cream. By the next morning, other than the slight annoyance at wearing the splint, he was fine. After a few days, and getting the huge blisters drained at the doctor, we were able to remove the splint and he's healing great. Here's a picture of the day after it happened. As you can tell, he's doesn't seem bothered in the slightest.

New Year's Eve at the Botanical Gardens

We had tried to get to the Botanical Gardens many times this season and couldn't ever get there. So, we finally went over on New Years eve to see all the Christmas lights. It was beautiful and not too crowded. Every year the lights get more and more amazing. Lots of beautiful displays. We really enjoyed it.

After the gardens, we spent the evening playing games with both sets of Grandparents & Uncle Michael at our place. We spent a brief stint in the Overlake Urgent Care to take care of a burned hand on Henry (he put his hand on the fireplace glass before we could stop him). It was so sad, but they took care of him quickly and then he crashed for the evening so the parents could play.

It was a great year! I'm sad to see it go, but excited for all the adventures that 2011 will bring.

Snowflake Lane

We met up with Uncle Pete, Aunt Becca & little Zoey at Snowflake Lake one night before Christmas. It was insanely crowded, but very fun (for the kids especially). We had toy soldiers drumming around us, Frosty dancing next to us, and various snow princesses walking around visiting with everyone. We were there with what felt like thousands of others, dancing in the cold and the rain. Very fun.

Issaquah Reindeer Festival

The week before Christmas, we went with some friends to visit the reindeer festival here in Issaquah at the Cougar Mountain Zoo. It was so fun. We got to see all the reindeer and Santa, write letters, get faces painted, and walk around to see all the other animals. It was a fun day.
