WSU Graduation

Finally! Shane graduated this weekend from Washington State University! He is now a graduate with a BA degree in History. Besides an extremely long commencement, it was a perfect day. We are so proud of Shane for all the hard work he's put into this. I'm glad he's finally done and we'll have more free time and family time. Shane is looking forward to reading for fun again. He already started his first fun book, post graduation and can't put it down.

It was a long drive and Pullman isn't really near anything, so we appreciate that my parents, and Gloria & Michael were able to make it to help Shane celebrate. We are grateful for loving and supportive family,, whether they were able to make the trip over or not!

By the time commencement was over, Henry was out! But he was celebrating with us in Spirit!

Silverwood Theme Park

As part of our Graduation weekend celebration, we spent Mother's Day at Silverwood near Coeur D'Alene, ID. Even though the forecast was rain, we got a fairly beautiful day out of the visit. We all got a little rosy in the cheeks. We spent the day walking, playing and laughing. Since I'm expecting, I only rode on the carousel, antique cars and on the train...all other rides were off limits. Shane and Emma tried a bunch more, but Emma was the real trooper, trying every kid ride that existed.

Much of the ambiance of the park was "Old West"... it reminded me so much of my summers in Utah going to Lagoon with my friends. Lots of good memories.

Emma was even brave and did the corkscrew roller coaster...but was very wary of any big roller coasters after that. She did great. Henry was happy to wander around on the grass between naps in his stroller. We ended the day with a train ride around the park, and it was just beginning to rain, so we headed out, lucky that we got so much good weather in.

Tulips 2011

What an adventure we had on Saturday. We drove up for our annual Tulip trip to Mt. Vernon last Saturday. This year, we met some friends, the Gregorys, up there for lunch and then visited the flowers together. It was so fun for Emma to have other kids to play with. Luckily, it was a beautiful day, and we all left with rosy cheeks. It felt so good to be out in the sun.

It also felt a little surreal. It seems like we were just there last year, with Henry in the baby pouch, and only a few weeks old. I can't believe how quickly a year has passed, and now he is running around and saying as many words as he can, so mesmerized by the flowers. Crazy, but wonderful. And now we have another one coming, what will life be like next year!?!

Here are some pictures of our beautiful day!

A little pre-tween attitude.

The grass field was the highlight of the day for everyone.

Shane called this the "liberty tree"

My sweet happy boy!

I love his excited face on this one, his little raised eyebrows make me smile. :)

Happy in the stroller and the shade.
