If Shane blogged...

{I'm sure this would be his response, if he ever wrote on our blog. At least he reads it occasionally}

Carrie,

I'll think about it. All I ever want are tools. Click here to shop.

Dear Shane...

Dear Shane (my sweetie)...

So I know that we had a discussion about valentines day, and we said we would keep it simple and low-key. BUT, since I didn't win the giveaway for these cute necklaces, this would be a great idea. (hint, hint)

I would love this one with my three favorite names... "Shane, Emma & Henry" {I think this is what we've decided on for baby boy Reckling--not my #1 favorite, but we both love it and I need to start thinking more concretely about this man-child that won't stop with all the kicking!}

Or, I would love this one, with just our names "Shane & Carrie 8-22-03".

Just a thought. :) Click here to shop.

Love, Carrie

Sweet & Savory Emma moments...

Sweet:

"Mom, am I one of the children that Jesus loves?"

"Daddy's new name is Papa. I like calling him Papa." I say, "What about Daddy or Dad or Father". She says, "He's not my Father. My Father lives in Heaven".

Savory:

Yesterday, all of Emma's dolls with hair got haircuts. Her bedroom floor was covered with doll hair. This is the 2nd major discussion we've had about scissors. She trimmed some things off a dress previously.

She said, "But mom, their hair was wild and crazy. Now it will grow long and beautiful".

Should I feel bad that she did this while playing quietly in her room (unsupervised)? Maybe, but I LOVE the fact that Emma will entertain herself quietly so I can get other things done. I might feel differently if she tries to cut her own hair next time. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed, and hope the discussion sticks.

Successful Tubing Trip!

I just realized I never posted these pictures. We went again up to the pass for night tubing, and it was so fun for Emma and Shane. The snow had started to melt a bit, so it was a tad bit slushy, but both of them were in HEAVEN! My parents came up to visit and have hot cocoa while they were sledding, and my dad even went down the hill a time or two. Emma loved it. They tried to go again last weekend, but when they got to the pass, it was totally rainy. Darn Washington winters. :)

Don't you love all the steam Shane was putting off? What a hottie!

Emma, the blogger

Emma has been "texting" on my phone, and apparently sent a couple of posts to my blog. Just realized it. :) I hope you enjoyed her two posts.

Peanut Butter Cookie Cups...Delicious!

I had a craving last night for chocolate & peanut butter, and I couldn't get it out of my mind. So I went to our specialty cookie cook-book, and found these yummy looking treats. And believe me they were SO yummy. Easy, too.

Don't you wish you were hanging out with us last night? :) Me, too.

Failed tubing excursion...

We tried to go tubing on New Year's eve up at the pass, only to find out that they were sold out for the whole weekend. The guy told us you need to buy tickets at least 24 hours in advance. (We have tickets and are trying again tomorrow). Who knew? You never get to the ski resorts and hear that they are "sold out"...I guess there's more of a safety factor with the tubing and all the kids.

Shane and Emma were ready to go, so they played in the snow for a while before we came back home for some hot cocoa. They had a lot of fun just throwing snow in each others faces for 1/2 hour, and they both looked cute back in the car with their pink rosy cheeks.

And here's some video...

Happy New Year Everyone! Here's to all the fun things happening in 2010...new baby, six months off work, and lots of family time. Can't wait. :)

Emma's Christmas Jammies

Emma picked out the pink "john deer" flannel, and chose the nightgown pattern. She kept calling them her train jammies, because she watched "The Polar Express" for the 1st time this year, and thought they looked like the girl's pjs from the movie. She's worn them almost every night since, I have to wash them quickly during the day.
